Train’s “Shake Up Christmas”, Coming Soon To A Commercial Near You

Hey all you soul sisters looking to get into the holiday spirit, we’ve got good news for you: Train has rolled out a new Christmas tune, “Shake Up Christmas”. If the song’s foot-stomping chorus, “Shake it up, shake up the happiness” sounds a bit too commercial-ly for you to sing while sitting around the fire, that’s because it’s set to be Coca-Cola’s new Christmas jingle. We know this will come as a downer to those of you desperately trying to get Train out of your many TV ads. Jump below and tell us if you’ll be playing Train as you rock around the Christmas tree this December.

The Christmas ditty will appear on the deluxe reissuing of their 2009 album Save Me, San Francisco (look for the Golden Gate Edition) due out November 24th.

We can’t believe a soda company would use a jingle with “shake it up” in the lyrics. Isn’t that the exact opposite of what you should do with an unopened carbonated beverage?
