Taylor Swift Rides The Bus, Gives A Free Show To Fans In Hollywood

Most celebrities in Hollywood run the other direction when they see one of those double-decker buses packed to capacity with tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars. Not Taylor Swift! The pricey-tree-scented country star took gawking one step further by bringing the bus to the lookie-loos, performing a brief concert for fans near the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. Watch Swift’s midday live performance below.

Fans had short notice after Swift tweeted about the same-day appearance: “If you’re at Hollywood and Highland around 4 today, my band and I will see you there.”

The waxy songstress flashed a lot of hand-hearts and humbly introduced herself and her band. “We were wondering if it’d be okay if we played a song for you,” she asked – as if she had any choice after dragging a crowd of roughly 5,000 to the heart of Hollywood on just a few hours’ notice. Obviously, the crowd assured her that that would, in fact, be just fine with them, and no riot ensued. (See, Bieber fans? Adoring your music icon in person can be achieved without calamity!)

Thursday, Swift appeared in a similar performance at JFK Airport in New York, of all places – and now a bus. Remember her one-stop musical subway ride at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (just before that legendary dis from Kanye)? The girl likes transportation! Previously, Swift has gone so far as to hunt down young fans wearing her T-shirt, so it comes as no surprise to see her pop up at Hollywood and Highland on a bus plastered with pics of the starlet promoting her just-released album, Speak Now.

The brief appearance went off without a hitch, and the young star even stuck around to pose for pictures with fans. Footage of the event will be used in Swift’s upcoming Thanksgiving special on NBC, hopefully also featuring Swift singing while teleporting between a dog sled and a submarine.
