Taylor Swift Attempts To Dodge Boyfriend Questions On ‘Ellen’

Ellen DeGeneres put the pressure on Madame Tussauds’ latest subject Taylor Swift today by grilling her about certain songs on Speak Now and their lyrical relation to certain ex-boyfriends of the singer. (Cough–John Mayer.) Tay did her best to dodge the questions, but the prying didn’t stop there—next Ellen wanted to know what was up with the recent sightings of the “Mean” songwriter and actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Watch below. When DeGeneres brought up Jake, Taylor looked down and began fidgeting with her hands. “You have a picture of us on the screen, don’t you?” Swift correctly deduced.

Taylor flew solo on the show and performed an acoustic version of her current hit “Mine.”

Ellen also surprised Taylor Swift’s “ultimate fan” Amber by introducing her to the singer. Amber says that she played “Love Story” at her wedding, and that her husband was deployed to Afghanistan in August. Taylor gave Amber an autographed guitar and tickets to the upcoming CMAs.

Last week Billboard predicted that Speak Now could wind up selling close to 1 million copies in its first week when final sales figured are tallied up over the next few days.
