Far East Movement Shoot For The Stars With Their “Rocketeer” Video

As we learned over the summer from a pic of Ryan Tedder on the set of Far East Movement’s “Rocketeer” video, the OneRepublic frontman tickles the ivories and sings the chorus on the group’s new single.  And now the video for the dreamy-sounding mid-tempo jam has premiered, and it’s every bit as sweet as the song itself.

First of all, there’s a bit of good pop karma going on here. Bruno Mars co-wrote “Rocketeer” for Far East Movement. Throughout October, Bruno spent four weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with his own tender slice of pop “Just The Way You Are.” Eventually he was bumped off the #1 position by none other than Far East Movement with “Like A G6.”

Who knows—maybe they can keep the synergy going and land “Rocketeer” at the top of the chart, too?

Anyway, their new vid tells the story of a couple who are forced to go their separate ways when the girl decides to take a job in Tokyo. Determined to make his way to her after she leaves, her boyfriend spends the clip crafting a makeshift jet pack, piece by piece.

By the end our young romantic mounts his skateboard and goes zooming off into the night, leaving a trail of sparks behind him. Awwww.
