For the re-release of the Nintendo 64 game “Goldeneye 007″, Nicole Scherzinger covered the classic James Bond theme “Goldeneye”, originally recorded by no less than Tina Turner. How does Nicole’s version stack up against the music icon’s? Surprisingly well! Listen below.

Nicole has no reason to tweet her disdain with our reaction to her cover (unlike other sensitive artists), because we think she did a fabulous job, her sultry vocals fitting the soulful, sexy spy track perfectly. Of course, it goes without saying she’s no Tina Turner (who is?), but the woman’s seriously got some pipes on her. And although her insane vocal run during the bridge is pretty theatrical, it fits this sort of song.

Nicole is everywhere recently — dancing on TV, performing live in various musicals, sharing duets with hunky Spaniards, prepping another album with the release of hot new dance singles, and don’t forget, there’s still a possibility she’ll pop up as a judge on the U.S. edition of The X Factor. Took her long enough, but it looks like the Pussycat Doll may finally be getting that successful solo career she’s been after since the (non) release of her first solo album in 2007. Better late than never!
