We’re still dubious that Michael Jackson is the one singing on the newly surfaced track “Breaking News“, but we do know one thing for sure — Oprah’s interview with the King of Pop’s mother and children was heartbreaking to watch. “I don’t think I will ever be healed,” Katherine told the talk show host about trying to move on from her son’s death. “It will get better, but some days it’s like it just happened… It hurts. It really hurts.” Highlights from the interview below.

“I spoke to him about [drugs] once, when I had heard it, and he denied it,” Katherine said about being suspicious of her son’s relationship with drugs. “I was telling him I didn’t want to one day hear that he had overdosed because it would break my heart, it would kill me too. He kept saying he wasn’t, saying, ‘My own mother don’t believe me.'”

Joe Jackson joined Katherine for part of the interview, seemingly admitting that he did indeed beat his children. “It kept them out of jail, and I raised them right and they were good kids.”

Katherine — who is currently in the midst of suing This Is It concert promoter AEG Live — also discusses Michael’s various plastic surgeries and the times he stood on trial after being charged with child molestation. Jackson’s children, Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket, are also interviewed, sharing with Oprah how wonderful a cook their father was — “He made the best French Toast in the world,” exclaimed Paris, who adds that the thing she misses most about her father is “everything.”
