Nicki Minaj & Kanye West Join The Breakfast Club With ‘Pink Friday’ Track “Blazin'”

We already knew Nicki Minaj had multiple personalities, and her debut album Pink Friday takes after its mama — the LP switches back and forth from club-ready dance tunes to jabbing hip-hop jams, and Barbie’s collab with Kanye West, “Blazin'”, is definitely the former. The song samples Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me” from The Breakfast Club soundtrack, and she does it in a much more subtle and inspired way than she did on the other 80s-sampling tune “Check It Out“. Blaze up below.

We’re fairly sure this one is destined to become a single, as Nicki’s more upbeat pop jams are more radio friendly than her harder tracks. (Sorry, “Roman’s Revenge.”) If you thought you were bombarded with Nicki Minaj media over the past year, it’s only going to get busier in the next week with her album release. Besides “Blazin'”, today we’ve come across her pair-up with Rihanna on “Fly” (among other Pink Friday tracks — happy hunting!) and a performance of “Right Through Me” on Wendy Williams. Minaj is also set to present at this Sunday’s American Music Awards, and on Sunday November 28, her MTV documentary My Time Now, will air. Check out the trailer below:
