Not only the judges are changing on Season 10 of American Idol. Producer Nigel Lythgoe gave an interview to TV Guide detailing some of the major tweaks to the format of the show, including the elimination of the Top 24 rounds. Contestants will also learn how to promote themselves, work with a band and dancers for an awards show-style performance, and will compete against one another to make the best music video. Somewhere in the middle of all those new challenges, they’ll have to learn new songs and sing them, too. [TV Guide]
