Owl City Offers Some Seasonal Whimsy In “Peppermint Winter”

Owl City’s frontman Adam Young has released his own contribution to the cornucopia of Christmas pop songs flooding this season, “Peppermint Winter”, and the saccharine love song to snowballs and sleigh rides gives us the same feeling we get when we eat too many candy canes in one sitting. Somebody get Owl City’s prankster buddy Ke$ha on the remix of this track to pour some much needed Schnapps all over it. Throw on your earmuffs and listen below.

“I twirl through the driveway with angelic grace / Till I slip on the sidewalk and fall on my face,” sings Young, who is apparently basing all his song titles off the names of scented candles. “This peppermint winter is so sugar sweet / I don’t need to taste to believe/ What’s December without Christmas Eve?” We don’t know, and we don’t want to know!

Can you stuff this ultra-sweet melody down your throat, or are you feeling Scrooge-like and want something with a little bit more complex flavor?
