Ciara’s Urban Bass Remix Of “Gimme Dat”: Better Than The Original Version

Dare we say it: we’re actually digging the new “Urban Bass Remix” of Ciara’s “Gimme Dat”—a sexy, club-ready jam that first set our ears on fire way back in July. In fact, we wish recent birthday girl CiCi had gone with this version for her upcoming Basic Instinct album (due out December 14). Listen below.

Look, we all like to do a little one-two step with Ciara on the dancefloor. But this slowed-down mix of “Gimme Dat” is a great showcase for the singer’s softer side.

Who knows? Maybe it’s those dreamy synths. Or perhaps it’s the fact that sometimes-tough diva CiCi is taking a lighter approach here. Whatever it may be, we’re smitten.

Let us know—are we totally off in thinking the “Urban Bass Remix” trumps the original version of Ciara’s “Gimme Dat”?

I love this remix. Great production and love the way Ciara slowed the lyrics into a mid tempo with bass. The original is crazy too.

Agree! It’s like complete reinvention, musically, with a few new lyrics to boot.
