Last year, the Royal Variety Performance had Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus doing their could-not-be-more-different pop thangs for the Royal Family and those tuned in on the telly; this year Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole were on the bill for the annual British gala. Kylie got groovy with her chipper single “Better Than Today“, while Ms. Cole sang her ballad “The Flood“, which shares its name with a tune by Take That, who also performed on the show… singing their song, “The Flood.” Has the world really run out of original song titles? Watch all three performances below.

Kylie Minogue – “Better Than Today” (Live)

Take That – “The Flood/S.O.S.” (Live)

Cheryl Cole – “The Flood” (Live)

What did you think of the performances? We’re dying to hear Vampire Weekend’s take on Cheryl’s “The Flood” since they proved themselves to be such big  fans.
