Sky Ferreira Is Your “American Dream” On New Track

We’re waiting and waiting for Sky Ferreira to finally release her debut album and become pop’s newest princess – but we’ll have to be a bit more patient. Her LP has been pushed back, and she’s using this extension to write more music. Will her heavily Auto-Tuned, totally pouty tune “American Dream” make the cut? Check out the new song (and a possible track list) below.

Sky Ferreira – “American Dream”

[wpaudio url=”//static.idolator.com/uploads/2011/01/AmericanDream.mp3″ text=”Sky Ferreira – American Dream” dl=”0″] “Do what you want, make me into your American Dream / Say what you want, it’s just another part of your mad machine,” Sky sadly sings on the chorus. “Make what you want, who can I blame? / You’re all the same / Is it just me, sleeping with the enemy?”

Frankmusik is the producer on the just-surfaced track, and it’s entirely possible this is the song Sky allegedly wrote for Britney Spears’ upcoming album. We’re assuming Brit passed on it (a little bit too much like “Piece Of Me”, no?) and Sky nabbed it for her own, since this definitely sounds more like a finished recording rather than a demo.

Oh No They Didn’t tracked down what just may turn out to be the back cover of the pop singer’s delayed debut LP. However, since Sky is writing new tunes, we’re betting this track list will be altered a bit (if not completely reworked).
