‘American Idol’ Makes Even More Changes To Season 10
Despite Nigel Lythgoe’s previous comments, American Idol won’t be a music video challenge during Season 10. However, there will be a sudden death Top 20 round, with voters choosing which 12 (or 10!) contestants make it to the finals. Also new: there will also be no gender parity. Explains exec producer Ken Warwick: “If I’ve got six fantastic boys and four average girls, I’m certainly not going to throw out a fantastic boy to put in another average girl, or vice versa.” Oh, we’re sure average and subpar singers will be sneaking into the finals either way.
