Even if we weren’t in the throes of football season, we’d be all abuzz about “Black and Yellow,” Pittsburgh-bred rapper Wiz Khalifa’s ode to his hometown Steelers. Now the all-star team assembled for the song’s official “G-mix” (Snoop Doog, Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J, and T-Pain) is back for the video. It’s a big departure from the original — instead of the raw, personal look at his Pittsburgh neighborhood, we’re offered a stream of items (a Lamborghini, a Christmas tree) in Wiz’s two favorite colors. Watch below.

Provocatively-dressed women bumping and grinding, thick clouds of smoke that seem to have drifted over from Wiz and Snoop’s “That Good” video, and completely unnecessary eyewear: this video is pretty much a check list of everything your most basic hip-hop vid requires, with the one novelty being that everything is tinted one of two hues. Amongst the black and/or yellow stuff on display: police “caution” tape, a Lamborghini (upgraded from the yellow Dodge Challenger Wiz rides in the original video), and the dancers themselves.

Wiz told MTV that the basic clip, directed by Bill Paladino, suited the spirit of the mix: “It’s the G-mix so we keeping it G: simple shots, performance shots, me and my guys.”

Oh well. We didn’t expect much substance from a song inspired by a football team, anyway. We learned that lesson from Prince, remember?
