T.I. may be doing time, but that isn’t slowing down the business of promoting his album No Mercy. In fact, things are just getting revved up with “Castle Walls,” Tip and Christina Aguilera’s moody collaboration. Early this morning Alex Da Kid, the Grammy-nominated producer behind the song, tweeted, “Oh by the way Castle Walls was shipped to radio 2day… start requesting it next week…” That Grape Juice posted the above image today, noting that it’s the official art for the “Castle Walls” single. Of course, noticeably absent from the kingdom is Burlesque babe Xtina.

Last month we spoke with Alex about putting the song together. “I really wanted to work with T.I. but I wanted to do something a little different. I didn’t want to do the same things he was doing on the past album,” the London-born producer told us. “He laid his verses, and then we were thinking about who we should feature. They had their own ideas, and I just thought immediately—Christina. So I sent it to her and asked her what she thought and she loved it.”

We also asked Alex about possibly working with Aguilera on new material. “To be honest, both of our schedules are really crazy,” he said. “We spoke about potentially working together, but we haven’t even got dates and a schedule.”

Do you think “Castle Walls” will be a big hit for Tip and Xtina?
