As mentioned earlier this month, NBC is launching a new televised singing talent competition this spring called The Voice, which will be hosted by Carson Daly. (Actually, it’s an adaptation of a Dutch program, where hopefuls audition while the judges are turned away and can’t actually see them.) And now The Voice has two high-profile voices on the judging panel, in the forms of Grammy winners Cee Lo Green and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, reports Entertainment Weekly. “I was absolutely thrilled to be invited by Mark Burnett to join The Voice as a coach,” said a statement from Adam Levine. “I look forward to working with these singers and helping them push forward throughout the competition to make their musical dreams become a reality.”

Likewise, Cee Lo, who hit up the special Oscar night episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live , sounded equally as enthused. “It’s an honor for me to be able to help mold a malleable and new talent in such a fashion as The Voice,” said Cee Lo Green in a statement. “Being a coach on The Voice is a substantial responsibility, and I take it with sincerity and distinction.”

EW goes on to note that Christina Aguilera is in negotiations to join the show. And given the dismal past year she’s been having, Xtina could probably use a new gig.

We just wonder if there’s enough room on television for yet another singing competition?
