Wiz Khalifa Gets Boastful On New Single “The Race”

Rolling Stone cover dude Wiz Khalifa just released the Cassie-featuring video for “Roll Up” yesterday, but there’s already another promo single of his up on iTunes today, ahead of the release of his Rolling Papers debut LP (damn, that’s a lot of “roll” in one sentence). Head below to hear Wiz remind you that you’re in the presence of a king. “Oh, oh, oh, now I just stunt on my own / bitches ain’t sayin’ shit to me but now they won’t leave me alone / they used to walk the other way but now they all come to my home,” Wiz raps in “The Race.” Musically, the track is a laid-back, smooth synth jam that’s got us wishing we were sipping cocktails poolside somewhere.

Lyrically, however, it’s a bit of an eye-roll. Do we really need another MC bragging about how much paper they’ve got, how many ladies they’re getting up on and how famous they are now? Apparently Wiz thinks so…
