Today, Cherrytree Records released its first (of hopefully many) live acoustic sessions from their artist family. For The Cherrytree House Sessions Vol. 1, the label shares from its collection of intimate in-office recordings including rare performances from Far East Movement, Ellie Goulding, a tear-jerker from Robyn and even a lute-powered (an instrument we cover kind of rarely around here) track from Sting. Below, the pop legend whose Symphonicities version of “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” gave us our second favorite SYTYCD routine from Season 7, talks about his contribution to the album, “The Snow That Melts The Soonest”.

The British singer talks about playing the 16th century string instrument for The Cherrytree House Sessions. If there’s anyone who could bring the lute back in style, it’s Sting.
