Natalia Kills Not Really Digging The Lady Gaga Comparisons

A literary girl with a penchant for dance-pop and the darker side of life tries to make an honest living and voila, suddenly everyone’s comparing her to “Judas” tunesmith Lady Gaga. But Natalia Kills isn’t having any of it. “Gaga is the most popular artist at the moment, but we don’t know what’s going to happen in the next three years,” the Perfectionist singer said of her Cherrytree labelmate Gaga in an interview with Digital Spy. “I’ve been making music since I was 14, before the likes of Christina and GaGa’s music careers even existed.” Kills added, “If people go into music with the idea of competing with other artists, then they’re doing it for all the wrong reasons.”

We profiled the unique UK singer last year in our Popping Up series. “When you think about it, I’ve always been Natalia Kills—everything I have done so far has lead me to where I am,” she told us. “It has existed all along. I have not changed, just evolved and amplified my imagination.”

Check out Kills’ recent videos for “Mirrors” and “Wonderland” and see if there’s any merit in the claims that she’s following in the footsteps of Mother Monster.
