The past week brought us a headline-grabbing performance from Kanye West at Coachella, the return of American Idol Season 7 winner David Cook, a divisive new single from Beyonce and statements from Natalia Kills about being compared to Lady Gaga. Oh, yeah—we also sat down with soul punk Patrick Stump for a fun video interview! Head below top see how our readers reacted to this wave of pop euphoria.

:: Elijah died a little on the inside after reading Natalia Kills Not Really Digging The Lady Gaga Comparisons: “I’m all for establishing artistic credibility, especially in a genre where it’s easily assumed females don’t work for what they have, but her statements won’t hold much weight when she spews out incorrect facts.”

:: Albert shined all of his lights on Kanye West Has All That Power At Coachella: “kanye west was great/full of energy as always. funny thing is, during the live-stream via youtube, channel 2 featuring she wants revenge had to end early due to technical difficulties. VERY SAD for those fans. but imagine if that was kanye west’s stream…i guess it could have been worse.”

:: Mike worshiped on Listen To Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)”: “Beyjesus still runs the game bitches. Just bend over and take it like a man!”

:: Tiff Tayeon, on the other hand, thought Beyonce sounded more like a false idol: “FLOP!!!! HAHAHA! TEAM GODNEY/RIHALLAH/KE$HUS CHRIST”

:: Brandon Hall wound up being a Bey-liever: “What I’m really liking about this is, it reminds me of Destiny’s Child. Its a little sassy, its a little funky its in your face and most of all its a lot of fun, I love it.”

:: Missy agreed with The Best Review Of Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)”: “They hit the nail on the coffin–Bey is hyped so much that we essentially expect more from her. Her new song reminds me of DIVA, and if I remember correctly, Diva was released later on and not a first single. This should not be Bey’s BIG BANG.”

:: Sunset cast a dark shadow on Hear David Cook’s New Single “The Last Goodbye”: “this song is a piece of crap. cook has lost his balls, and whatever rock edge i thought he had. why did he have to sell out to tedder and pop music. he has lost his rock soul.”

:: Tony saw the light at the end of the tunnel, though: “The song is not a piece of crap. It’s a catchy pop tune, and as that it does a good job of giving David a shot at a Top 40 hit. That’s not called selling out – it’s called establishing a career in the current climate. I love rock music, but the majority doesn’t seem to agree anymore. David will undoubtedly have heavier songs on his album, but the first single needed to get the masses interested.”

:: Caitlin got a lovebug from Patrick Stump: The Idolator Interview: “Patrick stop being so adorable all the time or I’m going to have to find you and just hug you…for a very. long. time”
