With only five contestants left in the competition, it seems clearer than ever which two Season 10 hopefuls will be make it to the finale of American Idol. Metal-lover James Durbin and country boy Scotty McCreery have been miles ahead of the rest of the pack in our Power List for weeks now – but with the surprise elimination of Casey Abrams, who knows what America wants week to week? Oh, you bipolar nation! Check out our updated Idol Power List below.

During Carole King tribute night, Scotty McCreery (5 points) really wowed us with his subdued take on Carole King’s “You’ve Got A Friend”, and James Durbin (4 points) kept it cool and classic with “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”. Haley Reinhart (3 points) won us over by the end of her performance of “Beautiful”, while Lauren Alaina (2 points) and Jacob Lusk (1 point) made us shrug with indifference. Looks like voters agreed with us, since both Lauren and Jacob ended up in the Bottom Three, knocking off a point each from their Power List scores.
