‘American Idol’ Power List: Haley Reinhart Gets A Perfect Score

Last week we wondered if the American Idol finale in three weeks would wind up being a James Durbin vs. Scotty McCreery showdown, and the exit of Jacob Lusk on Thursday hasn’t done much to dissuade us from the idea. Still, Haley Reinhart soared to a new level of utter wow-ness this week, following her performance of the Animals’ 1960s classic “The House Of The Rising Sun.” Does she have the chops to pull off an AI upset? Check out our weekly Power List, and how James, Haley, Scotty and Lauren Alaina ranked on it, below! Surprise — no one shifts up or down this week. After all, there are only four contestants left, and the positions are pretty much set. A good indicator of how the next three weeks will actually go on the show, as far as who will get eliminated when? Well, Lauren Alaina was in the Bottom Two last night with Jacob. Just sayin’!

Here’s how we ranked ’em this week: Haley (4) not only rocked our socks, she escaped being in the bottom on results night — so America must have been into her too. Resident country contestants Scotty (3) and Lauren (2) maintained their reps for delivering solid performances, but Lauren got docked a point for, as we said, getting the second-lowest amount of votes, after Jacob.

And as for James (1), his screeching and pitchiness was too much for our tender ears to handle.
