Chris Brown Leads The 2011 BET Awards Nominations

Chris Brown is so beloved by his fan base, a few thrown chairs and smashed windows couldn’t even stop him from garnering the most nominations at this year’s BET Awards. The F.A.M.E. monster is up for six awards, including Best Male R&B Artist and Best Actor for his work in Takers, with Lil Wayne following close behind with five noms. Breezy is up against his ex Rihanna in two categories as well, but it probably won’t be as awkward as you expect, especially since she lifted her restraining order against him and is now comfortably following him on Twitter. Cali Swag District’s nomination (for Best Group) must be bittersweet, as it comes just a few days after the murder of group member M-Bone.

Interesting that “Airplanes” is nominated, but not “Airplanes (Part II)”, which is the version also featuring Eminem. Also, Chris Brown and Rihanna are both nominated twice in the category for Best Collaboration — Brown for “Look At Me Now” and “Deuces”, while RiRi is contending with “What’s My Name” and Kanye’s “All Of The Lights”. Who do you think has the edge, folks? If Brown ends up sweeping the awards, he may even shed more tears than he did at last year’s ceremony.
