Lupe Fiasco Toasts Malcolm X At OSU

Who did Lupe Fiasco reveal was his “intelligent, intelligent, intelligent” inspiration at a recent Ohio State concert? No, certainly not B.o.B, the artist who one-upped him twice and left him feeling light-to-medium suicidal. It was Malcolm X, whose 86th birthday would have been Thursday (the same day of Fiasco’s shout-out at OSU). The Chi-town performer has previously gotten political on The Colbert Report, so it’s no great surprise to hear him champion the controversial civil rights activist. Watch the moving tribute below.

It’s clear from the cheers and applause that the crowd was eating up this tribute to the outspoken African-American icon, so the “Words I Never Said” rapper should be pretty pleased with the laudatory words he did manage to say at the college performance.
