Adam Lambert is currently working on his follow-up to his 2009 debut album For Your Entertainment, and our favorite glitzy-pop performer is working hard to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump. The former Idol spoke to MTV on the American Idol finale red carpet last night ( looking as glam as he usually does) and gave details on the new set of tunes which he says makes up his “dream album”.

“I’m writing most of the material with people myself this time,” he says, adding that he’s written 18 to 20 songs already. “I’m really involved. It’s really exciting because I think I’m making my dream album. I know that sounds a bit clichéd, but I’m making exactly what I want to listen to.”

He mentions a few of his collaborators, including Sia, Ryan Tedder and Nikka Costa. We’ve already heard the magic that Ryan and Adam can conjure in the studio (FYE‘s dreamy synth-ballad “Sleepwalker”), but we’re even more excited to hear what Lambert and his personal idol can create together.

Are you excited for Glambert’s second offering? And who else should he hit the studio with?
