Sean Kingston, who heated up the charts with summery hits like “Beautiful Girls” and spread sunshine on Yo Gabba Gabba, suffered serious injuries in a jet-ski accident Sunday evening, according to news reports. Kingston, 21, is listed in critical condition in a Miami Beach hospital. Full details — and the latest update from Kingston’s “Wont’ Stop” and “Eenie Meenie” partner Justin Bieber — below.

Kingston was aboard a jet-ski with a female passenger Sunday around 6 p.m. when it crashed into a bridge, Miami outlet Local 10 reported. Kingston and the passenger both were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital for “medical attention,” a representative for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission told reporters.

The Jamaican-American star’s pop star friends have been offering news and well wishes on social media. One of the first to respond was Rihanna, who tweeted: “Sean we praying for u baby”.

Then news came Monday afternoon from Bieber, who tweeted that Kingston “is doing better”, and said he would wait to comment further out of respect for Kingston’s family. “I will continue to pray and support my friend,” he continued.

Nicki Minaj, who collaborated with Kingston on the dancehall hit “Letting Go”, tweeted: “My love & prayers are with Sean Kingston & his family.”

Kingston’s own camp offered few details. “Sean Kingston was in an accident today,” the singer’s spokesperson told TMZ. “No further details are available at the moment. He and his family thank everyone for the well-wishes.”

Kingston has been expected to work as a mentor to aspiring young singers on TV talent show Majors & Minors.
