Eminem And Bruno Mars Raise Their “Lighters” In The Air On New Track

We’ve been anxious to hear “Lighters” since we first heard that sensitive, lovelorn doo-wop crooner Bruno Mars would be featured on the track, off Eminem and Royce Da 5’9″‘s new Bad Meets Evil EP, Hell: The Sequel. Well, here it is! And it’s as saccherine sweet as you might expect coming from the “Just The Way You Are” singer. Listen below.

Eminem & Royce Da 5’9″ feat. Bruno Mars – “Lighters”

“This one’s for you and me living out our dreams / We are right where we should be / With my arms out wide, I open my eyes / And all I want to see is a sky full of lighters,” sings Bruno.

This warm-and-fuzzy tune, produced by Mathers, Bruno’s outfit The Smeezingtons & Battle Roy, is certainly a far cry from other Hell: The Sequel tracks, particularly “Fast Lane”. In fact, what is this inspirational, anthemic song doing on an album with “Hell” in the title?

Still, it seems that Em and Royce are playing the game and need an accessible song to get their album to more than just hardcore Em fans. And this is the closest thing this EP has to a hit single (from what we’ve heard so far, anyway). What can we say, people like Bruno rockin’ a hook.

Thoughts? While you’re forming your opinion in our comments section, take a listen to snippets of all 9 songs on the EP.
