Scotty McCreery Sings About A Fling In New Song “Out Of Summertime”

After winning American Idol with a whopping 122.4 million votes, Scotty McCreery made history again when his first single, “I Love You This Big”, scored the record for the highest debut by a new artist on the country charts in over two decades. We wouldn’t be surprised if his winning streak continued with the newly surfaced tune “Out Of Summertime”, as it’s about as plucky (and as catchy) as anything Taylor Swift has released in the last few years. With Scotty gloating about a girl “as hot as July and as sweet as sunshine”, we won’t stop you from convincing yourself that this love song is about Scotty’s kiss-happy amigo Lauren Alaina.

A song about finding love with a summer fling before being separated in the Fall is a pretty good choice of subject matter for a 17-year old to sing about, to we applaud McCreery’s team for finding something age appropriate for teens without including any sort of LOL-speak or references to social networking. Plus, it would be extremely timely if it were to be released as a single right now, as it’s the very beginning of the summer season, and we could use a few more Song Of The Summer contenders than the usual subjects.
