When it comes to getting her ideas recorded in the studio, Fernando Garibay is probably one of Lady Gaga’s most trusted right-hand men. In a new interview with Dean-Kelly.com, the “Born This Way” and “The Edge Of Glory” co-producer discussed putting together last week’s million-selling chart topper Born This Way. “We’ve been at this for, I would say, a year and four months, really,” Fernando said. “We literally turned the album out three weeks ago — literally like days before it came out!” Listen to Garibay talk Gaga below! Born This Way crashed into the #1 position on the Top 200 last week after it sold 1.1 million copies. Garibay spoke to Dean Kelly about the pressure from the  high expectations that he felt while making the album, as well as the overall criticism CFDA Fashion Icon recipient Lady Gaga was experiencing.

“I kind of prepared myself throughout the way because I knew that we were making something that was really different,” he said. “So along the way in the process of making this album I already was blocking out all the negative criticism, everything — just trying to not even think about it, not let it affect me.”

With the exception of “You And I,” which was produced by “Mutt” Lange, production chores on Born This Way pretty much alternate between Garibay, RedOne and DJ White Shadow. (Gaga gets a co-producer credit on all of the album’s songs, as well.)

Who do you think crafted the best songs on the album with Mother Monster?
