Katy Perry Goes From Geek To (Kinda) Chic In Her “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” Video

The Hangover: Part III is coming at you sooner than you think, and it’s a prequel set in the early 90’s. At least, Katy Perry’s new “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” video sure seems inspired by the blockbuster comedy, as we find “Kathy Beth Terry” waking up in bed with a shirtless quarterback trying desperately to recall what she did last (Friday) night. The shameful revelation? She was partying with a trifecta of the most-mocked musicians of all time (Hanson, Rebecca Black, and Kenny G), vomiting into a roller skate, and making (gasp!) eye contact with Glee‘s nerdy Kevin McHale (and, in the extended cut, Darren Criss). Watch all the fun below.

UPDATE:

Like Kathy Beth, “Last Friday Night” has gotten its own makeover: Funny Or Die has posted a longer cut of the video, featuring additional cameos from Glee‘s Darren Criss, Corey Feldman, and advice-giver extraordinaire Debbie Gibson.

We love the neon-bright look of the vid, like it’s been ripped off the cover of a Lisa Frank notebook. The 90’s-throwback cameos only add to the cheese factor (but where are Screech, Kimmy Gibbler, and Steve Urkel when you need them?). With Kenny G in this video and Clarence Clemons featured prominently on a couple Lady Gaga tunes, we have to wonder: is saxophone making an official comeback?

We (we we) are especially excited to see cereal-demanding party girl Rebecca Black appear in a longer-than-expected, fun fun fun fun cameo in which she takes poor Kathy Beth Terry from geek to (kinda) chic, She’s All That-style. (It’s a good thing she’s around, in case Katy & friends forget what day tomorrow is, and what comes afterward.)

Katy Perry-obsessed Jack Moore probably already likes this video more than his family. Do you?
