Kanye West And Jay-Z Release Art And Details About ‘Watch The Throne’

Jul 4th, 2011 // Comment

In an alternate universe where everything our favorite hip hop stars said turned out to be true, today we’d be listening to one of our most anticipated albums of 2011. But in case the delayed release had you worried that Kanye West and Jay-Z won’t be giving their upcoming collaboration Watch The Throne the royal treatment, the album cover art should relieve your fears. In lieu of such cover art staples as the artist’s name or the title of record, fans will just get an ornate solid gold cover designed by Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci. Find out more after the jump.

The LP will be available in both standard and deluxe editions — the deluxe comes with four bonus tracks in addition to the 10 standard. Insider buzz says the music is all done — but didn’t we hear that back in April, too?

Both CD and MP3 versions can be pre-ordered at www.islanddefjam.com/watchthethrone, with a supposed shipping date of August 2. (Do you believe them this time?)
