We come across new artists each and every day, but sometimes we’re undecided whether a particular act is worth making a fuss over. So we’re leaving it up to you, our readers, whether we should keep tabs on a rising artist, or leave their tunes behind (or at least let them stew a bit longer before we give them another chance).

Today’s You Be The Judge entry is Houston rapper Lil Playy — yes, that’s “Playy” with two Y’s — who penned the hook on Ludacris’ Grammy-nominated “My Chick Bad” and is featured on Kelly Rowland’s upcoming LP Here I Am. The 22-year-old MC, who is prepping the release of his Tour Bus Muzik mixtape, has recorded more than 30 songs with producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, including “Drippin'”. Hear it below and let us know if this lil dude is worth playing more than once.

The rapper also recently dropped his debut music video for “B.B.M. (Bigger Better Moneyy)”. Good thing he included that parenthetical, otherwise we would have assumed he was talking about Blackberry Messaging.

Tell us — is Lil Playy worth keeping an eye on?
