David Cook Goes Acoustic For “The Last Goodbye” On ‘The Talk’

Jul 7th, 2011 // 3 Comments

Marathon-training David Cook stopped by The Talk this morning to perform an acoustic take of his single “The Last Goodbye”, and darn if we don’t like it even more than the plugged-in version. The former Idol also sat down with the chatty ladies, confessing that if he didn’t make it as a musician by 26, he would become a graphic designer. And no doubt he would become the most swoon-worthy graphic designer of all time! Watch his performance and interview below.

David’s new album This Loud Morning debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200, selling 46,000 units — a far cry from his first post-Idol album which sold 280,000. Sure, 46k sounds pretty good to somebody like Lee DeWyze, but Cook could stand to sell a few more discs. Keep those promotional appearances comin’, Cooksie!

  1. Thanks for posting this – I had to WORK and missed it. The Last Goodbye was beautiful in acoustic, and I ESPECIALLY loved the bad-hair video of Better Never Than Late! David has come a long way and just keeps getting better and better!

DC sounded great but I was disappointed with the interview. It’s been 3 years since Idol and he’s done so much since then. They could have asked more current and relevant questions.
