We can’t believe we left Feist off of our list of Artists We Demand New Music From, but it looks like there was no need to — the Juno-winning Canadian songstress returns this Fall with Metals, the follow-up to her 2007 breakout The Reminder. The LP, out on Cherrytree/Interscope, drops October 4. Get a taste of the “1234” singer’s new tunes in a preview below.

Metals was recorded in Big Sur, California, and was produced by Feist, Chilly Gonzales and Mocky, as well as newcomer Valgeir Sigurðsson.

The singer told NME in 2008 that she planned to take a break following her success of The Reminder. “[My career] has become kind of large and it really began for me very, very small, like me alone in my bedroom with my four-track and a pair of headphones.”

“I just need to go back there for a while to get my bearings again and then know what to do next,” she said. “I just need to let it rest for a minute.”

A minute became about three years. But better late than never!
