After viewing the on-set photos and getting a sneak peek at Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s “Moves Like Jagger” video, the highly anticipated clip is finally here. The Jonas Akerlund-directed vid, which premiered on E!, features a bunch of Jagger wannabes strutting their stuff for the cameras, while the original owner of those moves is seen in archival footage. Also: Adam Levine wears a whole lot of ink on his upper torso instead of a shirt, and Christina Aguilera applies an entire bottle of mascara around her eyes. Watch the two Voice coaches show off their moves below!

The video kicks off with a crew assembling equipment as a slew of extras prepare for their performance, all in an elaborate tribute to the Rolling Stones’ legendary frontman. Jagger appears first in a vintage interview from his early days, responding to a reporter’s question about how long he plans to make music. “I don’t know. I never thought I’d be doing it for two years even,” he says. As the video shows, of course, his impact has lasted far longer than that (though it’s hard to understand why Levine, and several extras, sport that “Who the f*** is Mick Jagger?” t-shirts).

After all that, we’re not entirely sure that setting up a Levine-Jagger comparison was the right move (at least Aguilera can say she held her own while performing with the Stones during the filming of Martin Scorsese’s 2008 documentary Shine A Light).
