After a three year break from the music scene, Canadian singer-songwriter Feist marks her return by giving fans the first taste of her forthcoming Metals LP. And if “How Come You Never Go There” is any indication, the Juno winner’s fourth studio album has been worth the wait. Jump below to sample Feist’s latest tune.

How Come You Never Go There by Feist

The sparse, low-key (and somewhat bluesy) track finds the “1234” songstress in a plaintive mood as she takes her lover to task, singing “You carry on as if the time is through, you carry on as if I don’t love you” against a low-key, guitar-driven sound palette.

Metals is set for release on October 4.
