“Every girl is capable of murder if you hurt her,” warns 21-year-old Cady Groves on her debut RCA Records single “This Little Girl.” It’s an upbeat, edgy pop jam that, aside from it brimming over with the Oklahoma singer-songwriter’s sass and bite, comes packed with solid production work by Kristian Lundin. Have your first listen of “This Little Girl” by newcomer Cady below! It’s no wonder that Groves, who co-penned her first single with Sean Douglas and Tom Meredith, has a way with words when writing about relationships — she was introduced to Alanis Morissette’s searingly-honest breakthrough LP Jagged Little Pill at age four by her mother!

“I remember she put Jagged Little Pill on in our fifteen-passenger van and I thought, ‘Yeah, this is it.’ It felt like something I could actually do,” says Cady, who grew up in Marlow, OK. “So I would belt out Alanis songs in the van. That was when I started singing.”

Groves also grew up listening to soul-infused pop icons Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. Now, two decades later, she’s finally ready to unleash her own major label album (it’s due out in early 2012).

Here’s “This Little Girl,” the first single off the upcoming LP:

Britney Spears’ “Born To Make You Happy,” Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” and *NSync’s “Tearin’ Up My Heart” and “Bye Bye Bye” are just four infectious jams he’s had a hand in.

“No other girl could sing these songs, because they’re my life experiences,” Groves says about the material she’s recorded for her debut record. “That’s what I wanted. The album reeks of heartache; it’s about a girl just trying to figure out life.”
