After popping bubbles with the bombastic “Where Dem Girls At”, Nicki Minaj and David Guetta have teamed up for another song off the electro producer’s Nothing But The Beat (August 29). On “Turn Me On”, Minaj puts aside her slick rhymes and shows off her vocals as she takes a shot at singing the song’s euphoric chorus. Hear a snippet below.

David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj – “Turn Me On” (Snippet)

“I am so proud of what [Nicki] did on this record because we know her for those crazy raps but the other record that we have, she is singing like—oh man,” Guetta recently told Billboard about Nicki’s vocal chops on this song. “The world is gonna be shocked.”

Guetta, dude, slapping Auto-Tune on a rapper’s singing voice doesn’t turn her into Christina Aguilera. We’d say we’re mildly surprised at best.

What do you think of Barbie belting out instead of rapping? Or are you reserving judgment til you hear the full song?

That’s some heavy auto tunning. Can’t even tell it’s her.

This song is actually REALLY good, people are shocked by the auto tune but its not excessive in my opinion is EXACTLY what ive heard in every other song i would put on at a party, this song will definently fit in that position nicely :) nicki is so versatile, beat is amazing

i love nicki so much, but i can tell this tune is crap and its gonna sound like one of them rubbish poppy dance tunes. i love nicki but nicki is now offically hip-POP rather than hip-HOP <3

christina aguilera isnt even all that great. lol. growling at people does not good singing make. back on topic, nicki minaj is wonderful and probably sounds exactly like what they were going for. i have heard her sing decently minus the autotune, but when it comes to modern day pop, especially dance music, you cant criticize someone for use of autotune. its everywhere and no one is trying to hide it.
