Beyonce’s “1+1” Music Video Is An Emotional, Soaking Wet Affair

Seemingly out of the blue, Beyonce’s “1+1″ music video arrived this evening. The follow-up single to “Best Thing I Never Had” is one of the diva’s more emotional moments on her 4 LP, and so the clip’s co-directors — Beyonce, Laurent Briet and Ed Burke — had their work cut out for them when trying to convey the sensual, gut-punch energy of the ballad. Did they succeed? Judge for yourself below! In the “1+1” visual, we watch Bey go through a series of states — she’s steamy with passion, has water drizzled on her while she sings, “C’mon, baby, make love to me” and then she poses while her hair is blown out and glitter flies all around her.

Next we’re served up some tripped-out close-ups of Beyonce while the song’s guitar solo kicks in. Ultimately, we’re left with Mrs. Carter staring at us as she was when the clip started — all hot and sweaty.

We’ll chalk this one up to Art House Beyonce.
