VH1 Names Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love” The Best Song Of The ’00s

Sep 30th, 2011 // 12 Comments

VH1 debuted their list of the 100 Greatest Songs Of The ’00s — ya know, just twenty-two months after the end of the decade they’re discussing. But that won’t stop us from tearing apart their selections! Beyonce topped their list with her 2003 hit single “Crazy In Love”, and though we cannot say it’s our personal favorite song of the ’00s (that would be like picking our favorite child), we won’t argue with it. But there’s plenty to debate with the rest of their pop-heavy list!

It’s hard to take this list seriously just by seeing what they put at the #100 spot – Sisqó’s “Thong Song”. This song has no right being on a Best-Of list, even in the bottom spot. Some more thoughts:

* Eve and Gwen Stefani’s “Blow Ya Mind” over ANY No Doubt song from Rock Steady?
* Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” > Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”.
* Britney Spears’ “Oops!… I Did It Again” should be replaced with the far superior single “I’m A Slave 4 U”.
* MIA’s “Paper Planes” needs to be higher, as does The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army”.
* Jennifer Lopez and Ja Rule’s “I’m Real (Murder Remix)” should be much, much lower.
* No love for Madonna’s “Hung Up”?
* Daft Punk’s “One More Time” is gravely missing.

Okay, guys and dolls, what else is missing or incredibly incorrect about this belatedly compiled list? Sound off in the comments!

Where is Kylie’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head???!!!” Madonna’s “Hung Up” is better than “Music.” Sisqo’s “Thong Song???!!!” – That’s got to be one of the worst song of 2000′s right along with “Who Let The Dogs Out.”

  9. RYK101

SexyBack in the top 10? WHAT A JOKE! Umbrella should be higher and also “Disturbia” and “Don’t Stop the Music” are missing

  10. Gergana

Flo Rida (Feat. T-Pain) – “Low” really?!? alongside Jaded? This is just one of the songs that get old very fast and nobody remembers, it’s NOT supposed to be on the top 100 of the decade…

  11. dannyarr

I definitely agree with Beyoncé being at number 1! that’s because its a great song and shes the only super super famous female singer that i can think of that can sing good live and that actually gets number 1s and that! and shes the full package! voice, dance moves, hits, looks! etc.etc. so yeah whoever think that she shouldn’t be at number 1 i totally disagree!!! and the other songs, well I’m not too sure about them but hands down, Beyoncé the winner!

  12. Jorvg

Where is “Can’t get you out of my head” -.-
