Patrick Stump Tributes New Jack Swing With A Cappella Medley — Exclusive

Patrick Stump is keeping himself busy prepping the release of his debut solo album Soul Punk (out next Tuesday!), but he can always find time to deliver another outstanding a cappella medley to his fans. After covering some Grammy-nominated tunes and tackling the hits of Michael Jackson, Stump loops his vocals for a tribute to new jack swing, the fusion genre popularized in the 90s. Stump has performed this medley many times during his live shows, but this is the first time we get to experience it sans instruments. Catch it below!

“To some people, the 90’s means Grunge. To me, it means new jack swing,” Stump told us in an exclusive statement. And in his 90s-tastic medley, the “This City” singer covers Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It”, Bobby Brown’s “Every Little Step I Take”, Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison” and Boyz II Men’s “Motownphilly”. (Between this, their Christmas duet with Justin Bieber and their song being sampled on Beyonce’s “Countdown”, the Boyz sure are having a moment, aren’t they?)

Soul Punk drops October 18. Pre-order it now!
