If doo-wop king Bruno Mars traded in his pompadour for a mohawk, his songs might come out sounding a whole lot like Pierce The Veil’s interpretation of his hit single “Just The Way You Are”. The San Diego-based rockers added a jolt of energy to Bruno’s tune for Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 4, a compilation that basically throws the Top 40 into a dive bar and shakes it all up. PureVolume treated us to some behind-the-scenes action of the boys recording their thrashin’ cover of Bruno’s song — and we’ve got the exclusive premiere of the results! Jump below to listen.

This particular song I had already thought about covering myself just for fun, so when Fearless asked us to be on the compilation I was really stoked to actually get to cover it.” Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 4 includes punk-rock covers of Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R”, Britney Spears’ “Till The World Ends”, and Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep”, among others.
