Attention-grabbing American Idol alum Adam Lambert graces the cover of The Advocate‘s November issue while decked out in a black shirt and chain necklace. The singer, who recently indicated that his sophomore album will be released in February or March, discusses his new material with the gay publication. “No matter what the genre is, it’s all very personal, even on upbeat fun tracks,” the Glam One tells the mag. Lambert also touches on the perception he feels people have of him as one of today’s pop stars:

“I pick up this kind of energy among young people that it might not be the coolest thing to say you like Adam Lambert’s music. People don’t think that I’m cool. So I love that I have the kids who are like ballsy enough to be like, ‘Fuck it, I like Adam’s music.’ I mean, I am kind of a nerd. I feel like there’s a collective eye-roll when it comes to me, in the media and just in general consciousness — with the exception of my amazing Glamberts, my hard-core fans who are the opposite.”

Do your eyes roll when you Adam comes to mind, or do you think he’s simply being modest?
