Kelly Rowland Is Off The Chain In Her “Down For Whatever” Video

Oct 19th, 2011 // 4 Comments

We’ve already had a pretty strong indication that Kelly Rowland was “Down For Whatever” since we laid eyes on her with Susie The Elephant in her previous video, “Lay It On Me”. But Ms. Kelly removes all doubt with the new clip for her RedOne-produced club stomper, the latest single from Here I Am. If Kelly’s steamy lyrics don’t persuade you, that chain on her face (and glow-in-the-dark dance sequence) just might. Watch the Sarah Chatfield-directed clip below.

“Down For Whatever” is straight dancefloor fire — and an obvious shift away from the ice-cold R&B of “Motivation”. Venturing too far into clubland can be risky (though it did work well for Kelis last year), and we don’t mind watching Ms. Rowland flirt with conventional dance music as she shifts her solo career into overdrive.

Great Video! Kelly u r my girl.

  2. OK.

The song drive similarities from “On The Floor” (the beat, formula etc.) but I think this one sounds waaaay better than that of J.Lo’s. (Maybe because of Kelly’s sexy voice and the infectious electronic synth after each chorus.) And the music video is just spectacular. Great job, Kelly! Finger-crossed, hope this one could surpass “On The Floor”.

  3. Go Kelly!!!!! I lvu, luv, luv it!!! Keep ‘em coming, lady!!!!!
