Steven Tyler’s Face After His Fall Is Your Last Minute Halloween Costume

Steven Tyler called in to The Today Show from Buenos Aires, Argentina to discuss his recent fall, which caused him to lose two teeth and receive several stitches above his eye. We’re relieved that the American Idol judge is in good spirits and seems to be taking his accident with some good humor — but as Matt Lauer says of Steven’s face, “It looks like you were the wrong guy in a fight.” Listen to the Aerosmith frontman talk about his accident in his interview below.

“Frankly, I just passed out,” he told Matt Lauer over the phone. “I was in the shower and I got nauseous and I started to get sick and I just fell on my face. I just passed out and woke up with the water on.”

He addresses any concerns that this accident was partly caused by any drug or alcohol use — but was instead due to dehydration after food poisoning (or “Montezuma’s Revenge”, as Tyler puts it). “I get that people think that,” he said. “It still bothers me a little, but it’s something that I have to deal with for the rest of my life.”

Despite his injuries, Steven was able to perform his show with Aerosmith that night. “Not only did I break my face, but the next night, we broke the house record,” he said. “So, life is beautiful, man.”

And before he got off the phone, the rocker provided one more zinger: “You can’t handle the tooth!”

He suffered food poisoning, a nasty fall and a bruised ego, and he’s still making jokes. The man is made out of positivity!
