This week, “Party”, Beyonce’s umpteenth (okay, her sixth) music video from the 4 era, premiered, and naturally online critics weighed in with their thoughts. Turns out our readers had plenty to say about Bey’s backyard BBQ, too! Theories about where the original idea for the clip came from abounded, as did questions as to why Andre 3000 was swapped out for J. Cole. Head below to catch a roundup of the comments!

:: RUBN found plenty to shout about on Beyonce’s “Party” Video: Watch A Preview: “OK BEYONCE A COPYCAT THIS IS KHIA’S VIDEO MY NECK AND MY BACK STOP STEALING . BEYONCES PARTY IS A COPYCAT VIDEO.”

:: bitchie was snatching weaves left and right: “OMG this may not be her BEST selling album but it still WENT PLATINUM AND #1 And has sold over 1 million copies so far. BUT SHES A FLOP WIG WEARING WOMAN??? PLEASE SIT YO ASS DOWN BEFORE U COMMENT ON THE Queen next time”

:: Really? truly had something to say: “Khia? Really? You haven’t even seen the whole video & she’s already copying off Khia? I can’t believe you compared anything Bey is doing to Khia? So many people really hate to see her still in the game. I for one love this song and the video seems really fun.”

:: Spectra also kicked the Khia conspiracy to the curb: “Yeah, Khia invented pool parties, and the idea of filming them. Or maybe its just that kind of song, with that kind of vibe, that feel appropriate for a backyard party by the pool. I mean, I’ve gone to parties like this, am I ripping off Khia too?”

:: Josh felt it was an un-Cole world: “The only thing I don’t like about this video is the fact that they took out Andre 3000’s verse and gave J. Cole half the amount of space and time to spit a hot verse. I’ve heard much better from him.”

:: Ima was also missing Andre: “Why can’t we have 3 stacks in the video, his verse is fire!!!! I’m seriously disappointed!!!”

:: Ciara fan wasn’t a stan for Beyonce Throws One Awesome “Party” In Her New Video: “trashy as phuck!!! ugh, and why did she take 3 stacks off the song for this unknown rocnation artist”

:: Brandon Hall happily RSVP’d, though: “Lol, that was Ghetto fabulous. It was a lot of fun, very simple and straight to the point. Song about partying and a video about a party, I can dig it. One gripe… J. Cole, just no! Andre 3000 should have been kept put, J didn’t do the song any favors.”

:: Casey joined the soiree: “I loved this video. As much as I LOVE Andre’s verse, I feel like J.Cole’s was more relevant to the song, and worked much better with the video. This is definitely a party I would love to be at.”

:: Troy did “Party” no favors by stating this on Beyonce’s “Party” Video: Review Revue: “She sucks…she needs to retire, like two years ago. Overrated Tramp.”

:: Finally, on a non-Beyonce-related note, TaRee took our challenge to watch Madonna and Lourdes’ Material Girl promo in full: “Made it 2:33 until I scrolled down, saw a picture of Kelly Clarkson and decided to click that.”
