Drake Shares His “Motto” On Previously Untitled “Take Care” Bonus Track

Drake’s “Take Care”  track list taught us two things: 1.) Drake only rolls when there’s a holiday shopping list’s worth of collaborators around, and 2.) The November 15 sophomore release features 17 songs, plus two bonus tracks — with one mysteriously listed as an “Untitled” Lil Wayne joint effort. And last night Drizzy debuted that mysterious track, “The Motto,” during his takeover of Los Angeles’ Power 106 radio station. Hear it after the jump.

So what is Drake’s motto? “Now she want a photo / you already know though / you only live once / that’s the motto,” he spits in what sounds like an extended freestyle over a ticking T-Minus beat. The Canadian rapper goes on to namecheck New York and Miami and brags about his racks on racks (“25 sitting on 25 mil”) and Young Money’s success (“My team good, we don’t really need a mascot”) before Wayne jumps in for the second verse.

“This is me and the bossman. It’s a straight West Coast thing, no joking around,” Drake says introducing the track, then later shouts out Rick Ross, Tyga and the Lakers during his sign-off.

“The Motto” is pretty much the opposite of what we’ve already heard off “Take Care,” particularly his female-empowerment collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Make Me Proud,” and his lady-on-a-pedestal-putting slow jam “The Real Her.” What do you think of Drizzy’s  lighthearted attitude?
