Lana Del Rey Sings “Video Games” On Amsterdam’s ‘DWDD’

Adele has paved the way for more sorrowful, soulful acts to make it to the pop mainstream of late — witness the success of her gorgeous, weepy ballad “Someone Like You,” currently at #6 on iTunes. Now native New Yorker Lana Del Rey (who looks and sounds like she came from someplace more exotic) is poised to grab attention for her downbeat, retro musical stylings, having already been heralded as the “Next Big Thing” at the Q Awards. Recently the “Blue Jeans” beauty popped up on Amsterdam’s “De Wereld Draait Door” to perform her single “Video Games”, which is not nearly as upbeat and fun as it sounds (though it is lovely). Watch it below.

Is Lana Del Rey really deserving of all that “Next Big Thing” buzz? Or is she destined to drown in music blog haterade? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments.

I hope she isn’t the ‘next big thing’ because then she’ll become mainstream and change and be like all the other artists.

Amsterdam’s ‘de wereld draait door’? It is a Dutch show, not just an Amsterdam one. Lana looks and sounds great!
