Justin Bieber Took That DNA Test After All

Justin Bieber has submitted to the DNA test requested by alleged babymama Mariah Yeater, TMZ reports. The chart-topping American Music Awards performer took the test in New Jersey Friday night under “very controlled circumstances” to keep a solid chain of custody that would likely withstand a challenge from Yeater’s camp in court. Bieber took the test one day after two of Yeater’s lawyers quit, and the paternity case — which earned the singer an invitation to appear on Maurywas dropped.

Bieber’s team have vowed to sue his accuser when the test results are in, while Yeater’s remaining lawyer continues to pursue an out-of-court settlement, which might include a confidentiality agreement and child support.

The 17-year-old pop star has maintained his innocence since the scandal broke earlier this month, claiming on the Today Show that he’d never met the 20-year-old mother. “I just think it’s crazy, because every night after the show I’ve gone right from the stage right to my car, so it’s crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations,” he said, contradicting Yeater’s original story.

Paternity test results can take several months to come in, leaving Bieber plenty of time to finish promoting his No. 1 holiday album. But Selena and the Beliebers will just have to sit tight for now.
