Back in October, Beyonce simultaneously wowed and became a lightning rod for controversy (yet again) when her “Countdown” video — which displayed more than a little influence from Belgian choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s Achterland dance — premiered. The Washington Post even did a whole write-up recently on “Countdown” and the “art of stealing”. And so now an “alternate version” of the vid has appeared, minus the nicked moves. Watch below, and see if you think Anne’s inspiration made all the difference. Our readers first sounded off on the “borrowing” Bey did for this clip in the comments for our Review Revue of the video.

“They took pieces from Achterland and Rosas danst Rosas… It’s a bit rude,” Keersmaeker said in a statement after “Countdown” premiered. “There are protocols and consequences to such actions, and I can’t imagine she and her team are not aware of it.”

Do you think “Countdown” is now missing a bit of excitement with this version?
